Upsala - Lenna Jernväg - The Upsala Narrow Gauge Railway

Running from a dedicated platform at Upsala main station, this heritage railway runs for 33km to Faringe through Upsala County. The track gauge is 891mm, unique in Sweden. The film was made in July 2018 when due to the extreme summer heat steam traction was banned and we had to have diesel traction for our journey.

The Achenseebahn narrow gauge railway opened in 1889 and connects Jenbach on the main Vienna to Innsbruck line with Seepspitz on the shores of Austria's biggest lake, Achensee. Filmed on 17th June 2018 and edited in real time as the action happened; consequently the same trains appear at differing locations throughout the film. Star of the day was undoubtedly 70013 Oliver Cromwell, which is due to be taken out of service in December when its boiler certificate expires.

The plans on renting this loc for events has officially been cancelled in the past years because of running out of budget. However, the same museum has been opened in 2015

In die 70er war ich Deutch Arbeitvermittlerungsfirma in die nähe von Stuttgart und in Geissllingen/Rampe (Bf's mahmen) da habe ich Elloks BR E 44; 44_5 BB; E94(CC) uns die E118 E119; uns las Sonderzug ein VT 11, leider nur einen Wannen Tender im Bush.

so nice to hear a dcc loco with exhaust sounds actually synchronised to the loco's movements - the Jinty - four exhaust beats per wheel revolution - so often not the case!

Oh, the very efficient British railways. 1500 hp diesel for an train with 120 tons weight. And Ullapool never had an railway 😉😉 Otherwise an really well made layout.

It is actually called a Well Tank engine as the water tank is below the boiler between the wheels

Regarding these steam locomotives they have power to climb West German steep routes Spessart Rampe Laufach Heigenbrücken Gelinsgen Stuttgart Ulm München via Augsburg and Probzstella DDR Ludwigsstadt BRD lines.
Chris the Matching electric locomotives for the Y wagen are DR Baureihe 250 & 243 these are DB BR155 & 143 Diesel DB BR232 DR Baureihe

I saw one of this class bizarrely in Kent pulling an engineers coach. Probably 1960/1. Did they have a driver &/a fireman, looks a little cramped on the footplate.

Beautiful little line, i live in Norway myself and I have always wanted to go to this railway. I got more motivation when I found out some coaches from the nesttun to os railway (a railway that closed in the 30s) are preserved there. This line is also featured in the famous film Olsenbanden jr på Sirkus
